BONDERITE® L-GP 2412 ACHESON

73

BONDERITE® L-GP 2412 ACHESON is a graphite dispersion in solvent that coats and lubricates various surfaces in high-temperature environments.

Product Overview

BONDERITE® L-GP 2412 ACHESON (previously known as DAG 2412) is composed of concentrated graphite suspended in mineral spirit solvent. The product is designed to be applied as a lubricating coating for demanding high-temperature processes to protect various substrates from wear and galling. Because of its high-heat resistance and low residue, the lubricant is ideally suited for use as a gasket coating. In gasket applications, it forms a strong seal and facilitates easy release to maintain the lifespan and integrity of components under thermal stress. Additionally, it is commonly used in foundry maintenance operations, where it acts as a protective layer to help reduce the frequency of maintenance changes. Moreover, BONDERITE® L-GP 2412 ACHESON is an effective brazing and welding stop-off coating, forming a durable barrier that prevents the unintentional flow of molten metal.

Problems Solved

In industrial settings, difficult-to-release gaskets can cause delays. Inadequate gasket performance can compromise the integrity of seals, leading to leaks that may cause severe damage to equipment and create unsafe working conditions. Rising temperatures reduce the effectiveness of dry film coatings, which is especially problematic in high-temperature applications like brazing and welding. This results in increased friction, material degradation, higher maintenance costs, and possible equipment failures, especially where heat resistance is crucial. The inefficiency of such coatings at elevated temperatures can lead to unscheduled downtimes and potentially impact the overall productivity of manufacturing operations.
