Product Overview

BONDERITE® S-FN AWS 104, previously called PARCO AWS 104, is a water-based anti-weld spatter product that is easily spray applied to metal surfaces, leaving behind a liquid, protective film. This material is widely utilized in body-in-white (BIW) automotive applications to protect unpainted vehicles from weld spatter. It also extends the usability of weld tips to save costs. Additionally, BONDERITE® S-FN AWS 104 improves overall process cleanliness and can be quickly removed with water washing or an alkaline cleaner during the conversion coating process.

Problems Solved

Weld spatter on metal surfaces can become an issue when it causes surface defects, interferes with paint adhesion, or impedes the mechanical properties of the welded part. Excess spatter from welding can leave deposits that are difficult to clean, shortening equipment life or the value of the final product. Weld spatter is of particular concern in automotive manufacturing when welding unpainted vehicle surfaces during the body-in-white (BIW) stage.
