BONDERITE® L-MR B-451

72

BONDERITE® L-MR B-451 is a high-oil-content, semi-synthetic fluid formulated with bio-resistant additives for machining and grinding ferrous and aluminum metals.

Product Overview

BONDERITE® L-MR B-451 (previously known as MULTAN B-451) is a high-oil-content, semi-synthetic metalworking fluid designed for machining and grinding ferrous and aluminum alloys. It is particularly effective in heavy-duty machining processes involving aluminum, cast iron, and steel components, where superior lubricity, bio resistance, cleanliness, and cooling are critical. Its high lubricity ensures effective protection for a wide selection of machining and grinding processes, preventing wear and damage to the machined parts and the equipment.

BONDERITE® L-MR B-451 is formulated with bio-resistant technology, smartly eliminating the need for tankside antimicrobials and avoiding the notorious "Monday morning odor" that operators are keen to prevent. Additionally, this machining fluid shows superior tramp oil rejection, prolonging solution lifespan and facilitating easy removal of contaminants that would negatively impact the machining operation. Its exceptional wetting properties and high emulsion stability lower product consumption, thereby improving overall performance and productivity and making BONDERITE® L-MR B-451 an integral part of ensuring optimal operations in machining environments. The recommended starting concentration is 5% to 10% but varies depending on the machining process.

Problems Solved

In the demanding world of heavy-duty machining, lubrication issues are common and can lead to significant challenges. For instance, inadequate lubrication can increase friction, resulting in premature wear and tear of parts and equipment. This situation often exacerbates problems when working with a mix of ferrous and non-ferrous metals, as compatibility issues might arise. Excessive heat generation is a typical consequence of poor lubrication, which can deform or damage workpieces and tools. This affects not only the performance but also the longevity of the equipment, necessitating more frequent replacements and repairs. Furthermore, insufficient fluid life can require increased maintenance, contributing to unexpected downtime and reducing overall productivity. Maintaining a clean and efficient working environment is important, but dirty sumps or oil contaminants in the coolant can impair machining performance, leading to split emulsions, ineffective metal removal, and, ultimately, higher product consumption.
